this gorgeous fella just had what is called a myringoplasty to his R ear. Unfortunately the constant ear infections cause the perforations creating a vicious circle. So what they do is take a skin graft adjacent to the ear lobe and donate it to the drum which becomes the new drum. They are flown to Broome for this little op.
We do not have FTT (failure to thrive) with this little Mitchelin bubba...it ws his Mum I treated this day but who could resist he is sooo cute !!
Not a real happy chappy today but when he does smile he melts your heart!!
This is a typical Donger....not a good photo but it's next door to us. It's a shipping container decked out into two bedrooms. Two young lads (18) from 'share the mission' (a group part of the church here) live in this. I'll send some inside photos soon. Amazing what you can make out o a shipping container....
This colourful jacket has been sitting outside the clinic for 2 days....I've since washed it and it has come up sparkling...only trouble is it is probably unrecognisable now......
This is our waiting room and the 'kartiya' (white bloke) is the school principal. He came to the clinic for a check up thinking he had escaped the little 'mob'...and this is what he found.
This beautiful lady is the aunty of this little girl...I was so lucky to get a smile out of her...she doesn't communicate and has (like many) slipped through the cracks of possible autism .....she looks like a he because the aunty was sensible enough to shave the hair to rid the lice......sometimes it's the best way to control them...
Funniest thing happened at the clinic today. We don't take appointments so when people rock up we get them to write their names on a clipboard. Sometimes it is quite difficult to read let alone say some of the names but when I went out to the waiting room and read out 'Fucoff' (as it was written) I was met with stares and glares and my colleagues are still pissing their pants!!!!
Hi Guys, great pics. Can you bring me a little "Picaninny" when you come home at Christmas please. You are both doing a fantastic job there xxxxx
ReplyDeleteSo nice to catch up with all that you do. The photos are fantastic and I've had a few laughs, awes and Ohh's with your stories especially the (Fucoff) patient name. I pissed myself laughing over that one ha ha ha
ReplyDeleteThe children are gorgeous! Love you xxx
